My next stop on Monday morning was Cooper’s Rock State Forest (East of Morgantown, WV) (map link). Unfortunately the early morning weather was rain, so I didn’t get there until the peak (golden hour” was over.
My first stop was to the Raven’s Rock Overlook. The hike from the road was about 1.5 miles each way, and the trail was more of a stream in some areas after the rainfall.  It was a nice view, but I’m not sure if t was worth the hike.
The area around the Cooper’s Rock gift shop was much more accessible, but the clouds had rolled in again, so My photos were more of the “foliage in the mist” variety. If you have time, Raven’s Rock is probably worth the hike, otherwise, you’ll probably be happy with the more popular vistas from Cooper’s Rock itself.
